Winter poetic charm in Japan

From December to February, it is winter in Japan and the lowest temperature in many regions across the country is freezing. It snows in the interior of Honshu and northern Japan.     61st Sapporo Snow Festival
    The Sapporo Snow Festival is one of the Japan's largest winter events, and attracts about two million people including forty thousand people from abroad every year. Admission is free in any venue and the hundreds of beautiful snow statues and ice sculptures are decorated. These are illuminated at night and fantastic. These statues are made by volunteer citizen and members of Self-Defense. In recent years foreigners also participated.

During the period, such events as pounding steamed rice into cake and local traditional dances are performed. In addition, various bazaars and bar in the Kamakura are established. There is a hearth in the Kamakura for more warmth and you can bake cakes sold at the bazaar.
